About Amelia
Amelia has spent over twelve years as a professional photographer, developing a sharp eye for design. During the Covid lockdown, she renovated her own flat, a project that sparked a lasting passion for interiors. Soon after, she took on the complete restoration of a Victorian three-bedroom house with an extension, stripping it back to brick and reimagining it from the ground up. Over two years, Amelia managed the design, layout, and build, sharing the process on her renovation platform, @amelialucyhome.
This experience opened the door to consulting opportunities and commissioned design projects, where she was able to draw on her creativity, project management, and practical knowledge. Raised in a family that moved often and renovated every home they lived in, Amelia grew up surrounded by building work. Coming home from school to a house full of trades and the smell of plaster dust is something she still remembers clearly.
Alongside her design work, Amelia also gained hands-on experience working with a construction company, managing client communications, quotes, budgets, and design briefs. This has given her a clear perspective on how to manage the challenges of a renovation from both sides, and how to bridge the communication gaps that so often cause issues on site.
Practicality is at the heart of Amelia’s design approach. She believes a home should work as well as it looks, with storage solutions and layouts carefully considered alongside style. Her unwavering eye for detail ensures every element feels intentional, elevated, and timeless. With a love of upcycling, sourcing antiques, and finding creative ways to work within a budget, she focuses on creating spaces that are sophisticated and functional without unnecessary overspend. Rising building costs and material shortages have only sharpened her commitment to resourceful, clever design.
Today, she splits her time between freelance photography and interior design, bringing the same focus and clarity into both. Her style leans toward traditional spaces with a contemporary twist: timeless, characterful, and comfortable, with an emphasis on warmth and practicality.
